The upcoming series is about the southwestern district of Tashkent, Chilanzar (uz. Chilonzor, rus. Чиланзар), which has been my place of residence throughout life. Founded in Soviet times as a residential area dotted with similar block houses, by the end of the 20th century, in independent Uzbekistan, this district became a household name for dysfunctional and unsettled life. I photograph people from the neighborhood, and together we correlate our memories about Chilanzar.
